Bone stress injuries, including stress reactions and stress fractures, happen when bone is loaded faster than it can adapt. They're common in runners after a jump in training, a new race block, or changes in shoes, surface or energy intake. Common sites are the shin (tibia), the foot (metatarsals and navicular), the heel, and the hip or pelvis.

We start by assessing your history, training load and symptoms, and work with your GP or sports doctor if imaging is needed. Some sites, like the femoral neck and navicular, are higher risk and need medical review, so we'll refer you where needed. While the bone heals, we keep you moving with cross-training and strength work, then use AxIT force plates and dynamometry to measure your strength before a graded return-to-run program.

Every plan follows the Equip Rehab Method: Understand, Calm symptoms, Re-Build, Re-integrate, High level rehab, and Return to full activity. Each stage is adapted to your injury, your capacity and your goals.
